In the belief that composers thrive when they have both creative momentum and community, the Academy is excited to announce its new Constellations Fellowship. Open to Academy alumni, selected composers receive the Academy’s commitment for multiple commissions over several seasons for new works ranging across the solo, chamber, vocal, and symphonic mediums. Furthermore, composers are also offered a Composers’ Group that meets regularly online so that participants can share work with one another, receive feedback from Gabriela and experienced guest artists, and collectively listen to and study scores from the Academy library. In this way, Constellations Fellows not only receive a “constellation” of commissions but also a “constellation” of peers through the composing process of their commissions.
