The Chiara String Quartet

An evening with the internationally acclaimed multi-cultural Chiara String Quartet who will share both stories from their 18-year history as well as live music. Special appearances from Academy composer Fellows as well as student composers from Anderson Valley High School. Long-time friend and collaborator Gabriela Lena Frank will host.

Del Sol String Quartet

“Young Voices” special event: Come and hear the award-winning San Francisco-based Del Sol String Quartet, “quartet-in-residence” with AV High, premiere original new works composed by Anderson Valley High students!  Under the tutelage of principal/music teacher Jim Snyder and composer Gabriela Lena Frank, local students are learning to read and write music in order to express their stories and experiences in the string quartet medium.

Duo Cortona

Conversation and live music with violinist Ari Streisfeld (founding member of the internationally-acclaimed and trailblazing Jack Quartet) and mezzo-soprano Rachel Calloway, a beloved fixture of the new music and opera scene.  Enjoy the evening with this husband-wife team, now Duo Cortona, as they share their experiences creating new repertoire for the unusual genre of violin-vocalist duo.  Special guest appearances from Academy composer Fellows. Long-time friend and collaborator Gabriela Lena Frank will host.

ZOFO

A casual yet dynamic evening of live music and conversation with the Grammy-nominated ZOFO, also known as a "20-Finger-Orchestra" on the piano.  Pianists Keisuke Nakagoshi and Eva-Maria Zimmermann, with passion and humor both, will share how they perform and create repertoire for two pianists sharing a single instrument. Special guest performances from Academy composer-pianist Fellows.  Friend and collaborator Gabriela Lena Frank will host.
