The Bueno Yabbelow Music Series

Visiting musicians and composers will have the opportunity to share their gifts with the Anderson Valley community on the Bueno Yabbelow Music Series, the Academy's in-house music events series.  Taking its cue from the trilingual history of the Anderson Valley (English, Spanish, and Boontling), the name of the series means "good chatter" and serves as the inspiration for what audiences can expect: Truly excellent performances from a diverse line-up of voices, engaging commentary from our musicians themselves, and ample opportunities for the audience to ask questions.

Bueno Yabbelow events are held in two venues. The first is the community-supported Anderson Valley Grange #669, a lively space in Philo, CA for film showings, variety shows, and performances from the local theater guild. As the only solar-powered grange in the United States, the hall seats 175 and boasts an enthusiastic volunteer team of lighting and audio techies. The second venue is the Dana Lyon Recital Parlor currently under construction at Timberstone Mountain Farm, Gabriela's primary farm residence in Boonville. Expected to seat 40, the parlor will provide a more intimate setting for certain select events.
